The publisher just launched 52 brand-new ongoing series a few months back; I would certainly HOPE they would have considered giving Darwyn Cooke or Amanda Conner one to draw and/or write, if they wanted to.Calebhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01391759187396994380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28855039.post-81581259758130684322012-04-19T07:32:27.620-07:002012-04-19T07:32:27.620-07:00Azzarello is just so hard to stay mad at when his ...Azzarello is just so hard to stay mad at when his work is so good even if he seems to not realize it will quite likely hurt his good name to do Before Watchmen.

Also, doesn't it suck paying $4.00 for a comic, but doesn't it at least feel good when the comic is of high quality? I cut a lot of Marvel books due to pricing and oddly some of my favorites have stayed cheap (X-Factor!) but paying four smackers for this new event is just rubbing me the wrong way. It better impress fast or I may drop AVX as if it were hot--a la the once popular Snoop Dogg lyric.David Charles Bitterbaumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00112993605550278929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28855039.post-29955245180087520092012-04-19T06:54:56.391-07:002012-04-19T06:54:56.391-07:00Like you, I'm not a fan of the Before Watchmen...Like you, I'm not a fan of the Before Watchmen stuff, but it doesn't ruin the comics that those creators are putting out currently, either. Spaceman is still kicking ass, and the new Parker book by Darwyn Cooke will, too. These guys gotta eat, I'm not going to begrudge them for taking a job.
It'll be easy to ignore the new Watchmen thing - besides not looking interesting, when the movie came out, the sheer amount of merchandising that was everywhere sort of removed the "untouchable classic" tag for me. I plan to continue enjoying the other quality work that writers and artists like Cooke and Azzarello put out that I am interested in. To me, ignoring it would defeat the whole point of enjoying comics.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28855039.post-62839432194241727762012-04-19T01:10:53.561-07:002012-04-19T01:10:53.561-07:00All-Star Squadron was one of the few DC Comics tha...All-Star Squadron was one of the few DC Comics that I could actually buy at the News-stand in Australia when I was a kid, The issues in this collection are some of my favourite comics of all time, it all began to fall apart unfortunately around the time Ordway left and the changes brought on by The Crisis series.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
