I'd love to have seen a 'Black Swan' GN.

Manohman, "Grandpappy Lector gave me a libido!" is the weirdest takeaway 2014 has given me, filmwise.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28855039.post-34868042089531104842014-04-09T13:04:02.413-07:002014-04-09T13:04:02.413-07:00Rev,

I'm planning a post comparing and contrasting, but, basically, in the graphic novel the ladies have even less to do. Basically everything that Mrs. Noah did in the movie in terms of healing and medicine and herbalism or whatever, Noah handled in the comic book version. (I know, it's a bible epic, what was I expecting...)

The shed skin of the serpent of Eden becomes a tefillin. That's the element I found most provocative & intriguing, but sadly it doesn't go much of anywhere.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28855039.post-23226181540230672882014-04-08T22:01:19.956-07:002014-04-08T22:01:19.956-07:00I'm a huge Aranofsky fan, and although I'm...I'm a huge Aranofsky fan, and although I'm a bit worried because I've heard mixed comments about Noah I still want to go see it.

Arionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00794190466838336293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28855039.post-86313395413968102302014-04-08T14:08:54.852-07:002014-04-08T14:08:54.852-07:00Glad you dug Man of Tai Chi, C.Glad you dug Man of Tai Chi, C.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28855039.post-53961289411059762872014-04-08T12:13:32.336-07:002014-04-08T12:13:32.336-07:00I haven't read the rest of the post yet (altho...I haven't read the rest of the post yet (although I'm certainly excited to because I love these Everything Else posts) but I have to take exception with your description of the 2011 film as "a movie about the Muppets." I disagree - that's what Muppets Most Wanted is.

Like you say in the next paragraph, Jason Segel and Amy Adams were the leads in that. It wasn't a movie about the characters "the Muppets" at all. It was a movie about how much Jason Segel likes and remembers them, and a movie about two of Jason Segel impressively saving them.

That's fine - I enjoyed that movie quite a bit - but it's so refreshing to me that this one is actually about the characters. Kermit and Piggy get the actual arcs this time.Anthony Strandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15170406011301084809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28855039.post-37522258021290645472014-04-08T08:58:14.369-07:002014-04-08T08:58:14.369-07:00i love your blog but, please, for the love of Mike...i love your blog but, please, for the love of Mike, hyperlink your footnotes. scrolling up and down while trying to read an article just leads to confusion.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05497471112230791353noreply@blogger.com
