Black Canary is... not.
I realize that this is one of the most prevailing tropes in What If? stories- the ridiculous, gory death of a character who could never be killed this way in regular continuity, but this is going too far.JohnFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09339402431610031589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28855039.post-2992618717306115052014-05-05T23:52:56.939-07:002014-05-05T23:52:56.939-07:00This book really turned me off due to the violence...This book really turned me off due to the violence. Normally, I am not prudish with superhero violence, but they really went out of their way to create new levels of grossness, like Black Canary's face.Eric Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04640838557576652332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28855039.post-1503200747533196362014-05-05T07:14:56.410-07:002014-05-05T07:14:56.410-07:00At no point do either of the Batmen mention to one...At no point do either of the Batmen mention to one another that the whole traveling back in time from a dystopian future where machine makes war upon man to kill the person who will create the operating system that controls the evil machines is basically just the plot of Terminator.

Interesting - I read through this book and my first thought was "huh - they're going to spend the next year ripping off Days of Future Past as a weekly series? The robot is standing at a 45' degree angleveering to the left while Batman is also veering 45' degree to his left. Why are they standing around like this. It seems that in this position the robot wouldn't be able to slash downward very effectively.

It has also chopped the arm and lodged the blade in Batman's chest symbol yet the angle of the cut on the arm shows it would be nearly impossibleto do so. I'm also certain that chopping a man's arm does not make the sound "SHK-LKKTCH".

I'm really glad I didn't encourage DC by adding yet another piece of violent, incoherent, derivative mess to my library.Leblanc_philhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11262676969212335285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28855039.post-86197977069446419912014-05-04T14:22:41.010-07:002014-05-04T14:22:41.010-07:00Good God, this is awful. But I have to say thanks to DC, for handing this puppy out as a FREE comic...which means that I didn't have to hand over $3.99 to find out that this is just horrible.

I will be avoiding this at all costs. And I sincerely hope that everyone else avoids it too, and then maybe DC will finally realize that their current business model is abysmal.SallyPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05592635194271250605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28855039.post-47803545599729686752014-05-04T12:07:48.346-07:002014-05-04T12:07:48.346-07:00Whenever I look at that picture of Frankenstein wi...Whenever I look at that picture of Frankenstein with Black Canary's face sticking out of his chest I keep wondering if the writer or artist is a Doctor Who fan. There was an alien in one episode called the Absorbaloff which could absorb people with a touch. However, the faces still showed up (and could talk)on his skin for awhile-- including at least one which was prominent on his chest.

Of course, this could easily be a coincidence.
