But I totally agree with you that it was successful update to his original uniform to the style's of the time.

Alan Scott's '90s appearances always fascinated me because it seemed like they didn't know quite what to do with him in relation to Kyle. I believe there was an editorial edict at the time that said Kyle was supposed to be the only Green Lantern.

So Alan Scott gets his new costume in GLCQ he doesn't take the name Sentinel until about two year's later in Showcase '95 #1. The story was a follow up to Zero Hour where many members of the JSA are killed/aged by Extant and Alann gives his ring to Kyle. In the Showcase story he removes the Lantern symbol on his shirt making his costume much less appealing.

A few years later he replaces the Lantern symbol with a Starheart symbol in Green Lantern/Sentinel: Heart of Darkness. Which I think balances the costume again. It doesn't last long though, because he returns to his original costume about a year later in Green Lantern #110 in set up for the launch of the Robinson/Goyer/Johns JSA series. Being a pretty significant part of the story it is a bit odd that the GL cover doesn't feature him but Jade and Connor Hawke. But despite returning to his original costume he sticks with the name Sentinel and doesn't call himself Green Lantern again until JSA #50.

Oh and the lightning guy in Primal Force is William Twotrees also known as Willpower. He is the son of Johnny Thunder and a Native American woman. Johnny abandoned him and his mother because of prejudices against a marriage of a white man and Native American woman. I don't believe he was used again after this series.

I have some fond memories of reading this as a kid coming out but judging from your synopsis of the issues you read and what I wrote in the previous paragraph I think they might be better left as fond memories.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05261955129728877417noreply@blogger.com
