This week's
Las Vegas Weekly column deals with two comics that are heavily inspired by Hollywood, albeit it the Hollywoods of two very different eras. First up is
Dinowars #1, which takes two different big dumb blocksbuster ideas and mixes them together in a way that shows clever inspiration (or, at the very least, sharp marketing savvy). And then there's graphic novel
Captain Gravity and the Power of the Vril, which is not only set in the Golden Age of Hollywood and features those involved in and around the creation of Saturday matinee serials, but takes inspiration from them. You can read it
here.
