In 1942's Batman #13, the Joker is stealing signatures for elaborate forgery-based crimes. As bait, Robin begins publicly collecting signatures of famous celebreties.
First up, Joe Dimaggio, which is all well and good. Hot dog indeed, Robin.

?!?!?!
Actually, he was a big deal back in the day! He and Schuster (spelling, anyone?) would tour movie theaters across America selling war bonds and shit. So while he didn't get to have sex with Marilyn Monroe, but he was kind of a famous person.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but if Robin wanted the signature of Superman's creator, he should be hitting up Jor-El.
ReplyDeleteForth wall borked.
If Superman and Robin didn't hang out on the covers of World's Finest all the time, it wouldn't strike me as totally nutty; Jerry Siegel walks the DCU, signign autographs for creating Superman? He's like unto a god! In your face, Grant Morrison!
ReplyDeleteOuch. My brain just shattered.
