I have a hard time telling, based on the juxtaposition of these two ads on the very same page of
Daredevil #30, one for a prose novel series about serial killers promising a "grittier, bloodier" sequel, another for a children's cartoon appearing on a Disney cartoon channel.
Parents. It's the same reason there are toy and McDonald's kids' meal commercials on during daytime TV. A parent reading DD is probably interested in crime novels, but a good chunk of us also have children that we might want to watch the new Hulk show with.

Anyway, I don't understand what you're saying. Why should I Google the ad copy, which is right there in the ad? They're books about serial killers.
Why does it have to be either/or?
ReplyDeleteNot me. After being a Marvel fan and following most of their books for many years, they've driven me away. Their characters no longer have behavior that is consistent with who they are supposed to be - writers just write them to suit whatever they need them to be/do, so I no longer have any connection to them. Between that, the price increase to $3.99 on most of their output and the downright ugly, too dark coloring, I'm done. DC, too.
