This week's Las Vegas Weekly column features reviews of Kevin Huizenga's brilliant Curses, Keith Knight's Are We Feeling Safer Yet?, and Gabrielle Bell's Lucky, all of which I heartily recommend.
Also worth a look is this piece on the passing of Scooby-Doo creator Iwao Takamoto (if only to see just how purple my prose can get when I try really hard) and LVW ilm critic Mark Holcomb's review of big fat comic book nerd/cinematic genius Guillermo del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth.
Holcomb, like ten out of ten film critics, seems to agree with me on this point: That movie is totally fucking awesome.
