Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but...

...is this for real? Is that really what they have Clark Kent dressing like in the ninth season of that Smallville show? Really?

I've never watched it, despite my affection for teen melodrama and DC superheroes, on account of not having cable when it started up and then just never getting around to it on DVD. So I have no real firsthand experience with the show, but this image feels like something that can't possibly be real.

It's not, is it? Please tell me that is not really from the cover of the DVD collection of the ninth season of Smallville!

Yes, Clark really does dress up like he's from The Matrix in Season 9 of Smallville. He calls himself "the Blur".

It really is that bad.

It is true, and it is bad...but still, we can hope.

Woah, woah, woah. He has a superhero codename already too, and it's not Superman?

Even from this distance, Smallville blows my mind.

To be fair, he doesn't call himself 'The Blur'. That's what everyone in Metropolis calls him since they only ever see a blur when he's around.

And he was all in black this season because he was all about divorcing himself from humanity and embracing his alien roots. Lame? Yes; but at least there was a reason for the lame.

Thank you for this blog post, you made my day with this observation!

The real irony is this season is actually where the show starts to get watchable in a slightly more than a "I'm watching this show in a ironic fashion mostly because I enjoy watching a train-wreak that only occasionally has small glimpses of what could be a far superior show" manner. :D
