Oh, so that's what the jacket's for...

When Wonder Woman's new costume was first unveiled, one of the most uniformly ridiculed elements of the new ensemble was the jacket which, given it's short length and shoulder pads, seemed a product of early nineties superhero costume design more than something that said "now."

As it turns out, though, there is apparently a very good reason Wonder Woman's new costume includes that jacket, a reason made clear on the cover of Wonder Woman #603:She's gotta have something to cover up that hideous gold webbing all over her arms, right?

No, it's so they could make that costume more "television friendly" when they give her a series.

Ohhhh it was a joke!

She looks like a matron at a biker rally.

I believe I saw her on tonight's Sons of Anarchy episode.

Those things on her arms aren't that bad...it kinda reminds me of old Greece designs~
Sure, they're badly used here, but a nice touch nonetheless.

It is so when she takes off the jacket, everybody knows things just got SERIOUS.
